odds are good.

I bet you 13456324567 quid you didn't read that number. You just skipped right over it. You didn't even realise I put a letter in it. No I didn't but you went back and looked.
I did skip over it, and I even checked for a letter after reading there was no letter just in case it was a double clarkie :)

Just to clarify is he going to be at left back & Sanchez at right back or the other way around?

Healthy competition is fine, maybe having 1 on the bench who wants to play every week, and 1 who's not expecting it but is busting a gut trying to get into the team.

But if you have 2 on the bench then even shared evenly they're all missing 40% of games, and we aren't going to be able to bring on 2 attacking subs every game either.

Raheem has talked about being unhappy at his play time last season, and he played 47 games! He was unhappy because he only started 24 league games.

So imagine how he's gonna feel if he plays less than that 2 years later? Sané would be the same, and Jesus - Aguero even worse because he's Sergio bloody Aguero, and Sanchez if he comes would be the worst of the lot.

I don't have any idea what Mbappé would be like after moving for £80m+.

I think we'll end up getting either sanchez or Mbappe (if reports are true) and not both.

As for raheem I'm shocked he was unhappy with his play time last season. Do you have the link that expressed this?

I actually did. But yes I went back and looked. As I'm aware my mind can erase letters that are there when it wants.

Why?

Gabriel Jesus play among a left and right winger both for club and national team while Mbappe play with a striker (Falcão Garcia). Why should anyone change that?
Wait, I don't understand. I just thought Gabriel will be better skilled at playing from a wide position. I could be wrong.

I think people underage him coz he is American. Phenomenal talent. I'd rather have him as the Nolito/Navas replacement.

If he moved to England he would make his club a fortune. Potentially the US's greatest ever talent emerging right as European football is exploding in the States.

Monaco will end up demanding what they want for this lad if he carries on scoring as he is in the Champions League.

I am starting to think whether €100m will be enough. He looks potentially set to replace Ronaldo as the best European player in a few years.

Ballon D'or material maybe.

Cheers. It' fairly obvious that extending is the most logical move, wrote it earlier.

Is it though? If you were an 18 year old who was really, really special...both in mentality and in skill. If you were destined to be the player of your generation. Would you say no if Pep Guardiola said he wanted to break the transfer record to bring you to his squad? He didn't have a choice last season when we supposedly bid 40. This season, now that he has emerged he holds the cards. If Pep wants to make you the next Messi (not in style but stature in World Football) you take it.

After his first selection in France, him and his dad asked the club for a new contract. Should'nt be a problem, except if one crazy amount coming on the table.

Tho, i think City should start to talk with his dad Right now to take a lead. Will be hard for any club to deal with Mbappe if Madrid is involved.

Barcelona thought that about Jesus. Don't underestimate Pep.

I don't see us signing him this close season unless we do some really off the chart things with the squad.

He's going to cost beyond a fortune, and we have SJS as the young talent to lead us up front.

Maybe we are really in for him but I think Utd are far more likely to take the financial risk that will be associated with such a move, yet their last few have not gone as well as they have wanted thus far (Martial/Pogba) and I suspect are more likely to go all in for an established player with plan A (Griezmann -- except he wants CL).

Madrid seems like a good shout as well, or perhaps Chelsea, or he stays another season.

I think he'll be great but I think this is just an unbelievable purple patch. He is not as good as his production suggests.

That said, I still want him here. :-) I mean only if he comes. If he doesn't come clearly I didn't want him :p

I'd pay 100 million for him, the kid looks like a star and don't underestimate the power that pep has over young players like him

All the people wanting to sign him but when would he play? Ahead of Kun (IF he is still here this summer) ? NO. Ahead of Gabriel Jesus? NO.

What would be the point in signing him for a crazy sum if he wouldn't play week in week out? Unless Pep want's to have Mbappe and Jesus as the strikers which would be risking seeing as there so young and alot maybe too much pressure.

You have probably misunderstood me. Extending contract means staying for, say, 1 year and then changing clubs for a huge sum. Mbappe's current deal expires in 2 years, so I bet he will extend it to allow Monaco getting 100m+ fee whenever he decides to leave (for example, next summer). It's a good move, as it guarantees that:
1) the club he owes will get huge fee, with Mbappe leaving on a very good terms,
2) he will have an 'insurance' to be a starter for his next club, be it Real, Juventus or City. No coach would dare to bench 100m purchase, that's how it works.
As for City and Pep, don't forget that we're biased, and not everyone is obliged to share our fascination with Mansour's project. Let's be honest - City's profile is still far behind the big boyz in neutral person's eyes, we need to win our first CL at least to break this wall.
Edit: think Henry would give Mbappe the same advice, if asked (and he'll surely be asked) : stay for 1 year to mature a bit, then move to work with Guardiola.

I can't see him not moving this summer. He's one of those players that the top clubs will want to sign, not just because of what he could do for their club, but also because of fear of what he could do for a rival. Clubs just aren't going to take the risk of waiting for another year and then finding that he's no longer at Monaco.

I would love to see him at City. But if we buy him and Sanchez then it would have to mean that Aguero is leaving.

but as others have stated maybe Sergio has told us he wants to leave?

Possibly, and it might be the right decision for both club and player. But it would still be a shame.

The prospect of Jesus, Mbappe, Sanchez, Sane and Sterling rotating the front 3 positions is undoubtedly mouth watering. The fact that Mbappe and Sanchez can play in the wide positions obviously provides greater flexibility than Aguero can offer. But it will still be a sad day for me if Aguero leaves the club before he reaches 30.
