I refuse to believe we could beat Madrid to a player they want.
Bud... Our prime investor is the man who has funded their stadiums redevelopment.

Believe me, If we want someone we get them. Regardless of who also want him.
Alves just wasn't worth that salary and we weren't prepared to match it.

Any RM player right now could easily join City, or any if their targets.

The City can offer to Mbappé, besides the solvency of the trainer, a great salary and a strongly reinforced equipment.
a very pertinent point and something strongly in our favour when recruiting top players at the moment.

players may well move to a new a club specifically because of the manager,
but if he's sacked soon after it can be a disaster for the player when the new bloke changes the style of play.

let's be honest - guardiola won't be dismissed even if we win nothing this coming season.
not many of the elite clubs are as managerially stable as we are.

That's because the entire backroom team were recruited to get Pep in.... Time will tell whether the experiment works

On the whole I am happy (who wouldn't be) but do question some decisions e.g. Clownio (Bravo)

Don't know mate rated 9th best in Europe, plus 5th most valuable club in Europe not bad for a club nobody had heard of 10 year ago supposedly ;)
Oh the old look where we've come from.
Basing it on value is hardly being "elite" in terms of football.
We'll get there but we need to compete better in more competitions before we go lording it about being elite.

Do you really believe that someone from our club would pick the phone up and ring Madrid and say back off this lad or we will withhold money for you stadium, please Ste be sensible, contracts are signed, and I am sure there will be no clauses stating they have to back off a player.

Ok fair enough, but don't you think those who operate RM, in the back of their minds would now be thinking:
"we don't want to piss off that small church team in Gorton as well, if we need investment in the future their main worshipper is quite wealthy"

Whereas historically they only knew about us as the club who bought Mcpointalot

People are still using the "we've got Madrid in our pocket because they used the Sheikhs money to redevelop the stadium"??? It's beyond stupid when you actually think about it. It's an investment company, headed by the Sheikh, it has nothing to do with City, The sheikh isn't some kind of dodgy loan shark who abuses his influence. It will be a water tight agreement with absolutely no way the Sheikh can suddenly withdraw the money because he feels like it. It's also quite disrespectful to suggest he'd be so underhanded.

Get off your high tree branch monkey boy.
I wasn't being serious.

Maybe Mbappe just doesn't like rain and he prefers to join the club which will have a roof over its stadium.
