Live under Hackney council, daren't look at their figures ! Biggest problem is the black hole GB created by changing pension rules/taxation and raiding the coffers. The man is not prudent nor has been a great Chancellor. Rob Peter to pay Paul.

I live under Hart council in Hampshire and they are quite a well run outfit so I wonder what it is like in badly run councils.

Tory council is a bit of a double negative the tories hate the public sector
Labour councils I guess bank with the co op and are therefore prudent

Local government is just that. The Tories want us to have more say in our own affairs and less dictats from Westminster. Are you saying you would rather not pay less tax and not have more control over local issues?
