Lack of enthusiasm thread

3 soft pens? They all were penalties due to unprofessional, inept defending.

We would not have got them all. The last one was a joke that just compounded the day. Arguably if you put your hand on someone they'll win a penalty. Which is a term I hate. It's doubtful that would have been a free kick elsewhere on the pitch. No complaints though. As you rightly say it was inept and unprofessional defending.

We have had our success on the spine of Kompany, Fern, Silva and Sergio. What we have now is just not comparable and we need some rebuilding. Hopefully Diaz comes in and sures us up!

As for enthusiasm I was really looking forward to t after the first two games but boy how that has changed! It is not the same with VAR, handball and no crowds but it is at least something to watch and we need to keep it going otherwise it'll be a long winter. There's only so much good stuff on Netflix!

Stop hiding behind referees and VAR.

We got torn a new one by Leicester City, end of story.

No team has ever won a title who can't defend. We let in some of the most bizarre goals - Eddie's feeble effort at the near post shouldn't be conceded - and we have shelved the quartermaster's supply - I Colt 45 for the shooting off of either foot - for a fuckin' great howitzer that blows the whole fuckin' game out of The Etihad, over the Ashton Canal to land t'other side of Victoria Avenue. There isn't a single soul on this planet who would, jokes included, who would have forecast 2-5 for that game. I thought Oliver might deny us a stoner and gift JugEarsFC a soft 'un but 2 fuckin' 5! City can still bite the arse that feeds it!

In this day and age's game they are but I only really looked at the first one (because I'd lost the will by the time 2 & 3 happened) but you don't fall like Vardy did with minor contact. Previously it would have been two players coming together and the striker looking for it. Some teams got those in the past (red teams), others didn't (non red teams). I'd prefer no teams getting them but that's the modern game for you.

We got what we deserved, a good hiding and yet again our manager was out thought by the genius that is Brenda Rodgers.

If Pep walked would anyone be surprised? He looks like he’s lost his fire. If he left, I know he would never be sacked, would a new manager at least create a bit of a buzz even just in terms of expectation? At present it just feels like everyone knows how things are gonna go for us this year and the outlook isn’t bright. There has to be a catalyst for change hopefully this Dias could be that. I personally think we need pace and power in cm to kick start us. We won’t offload Rodri easily though.

Ota is off to Benfica, Stones unavailable for whatever reason, Laporte not fit and Ake already on the pitch. Who else is Pep going to pick? IMO, we need another cb in addition to Dias.
THB or Fernandinho, why are we giving Garcia any sort of game time. He is one kick away from being injured and then we have thrown away millions and he walks on a free next summer.

THB is too young and inexperienced. Fern is too old, not a cb and too slow. We might get lucky and keep everybody fit. We might but that isn’t usually the way it works.
