lampard will never start a game against top opposition and only be used as a sub on very rare occasions if at all.

If you'd played for City for the majority of your life, left the club at 36 and joined a rival, would you want to play against City?

I certainly wouldn't.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It would be different if we'd signed him for £30m+ when he was 25.

Back on here after a few months, hope all had a good summer. Roll on Sunday!!

Lampard is a shrewd bit of business from us when we are being effectively hamstrung by UEFA; always knew he would come here after he decided on NYCFC just a pity Villa didn't because we could do with him as well.. He has been there and won it, he won't set the world on fire but he is the type of player you need when you are playing a tough team and need someone with a bit of quality in the last 30 minutes. He won't have the legs for anything more than 90 minutes a week but we haven't brought him in for that. We could very easily rotate him with Silva in the more 'easier' games lets say and in the earlier stages of the cups.
