Lampard will 100% be doing something dodgy there, why wouldn't he be? He loves Chelsea and is completely neutral towards City.

Anyway, been thinking this. There is absolutely no-way that Frank Lampard will NOT be sending Terry text messages with MCFC tactics.
Thank god we only play them twice and not 38 times......

I'm not sure what other City fans feel towards this deal (not read the thread) and I know he is obviously past his best, but it is incredible to see him in a City training kit with the rest of our players. What a player to have around the club, he is a role model for all kids. He was given a lot of stick as a youngster at West Ham. Many believed 'Arry picked him on their relationship rather than his ability. It is safe to say he has proved everyone wrong. Doesn't get enough credit in my opinion because he has been a top pro on and off the field. Will be able to lead the side in games where we need a bit of experience. He has won the CL, UEFA Cup, Prem, FA Cup, League Cup and has scored and assisted consistantly well over the last decade. Whilst we have a lot of experience in our side, we can only benefit from having Frank at the club whether he plays often or not. I hope we manage to tie in some sort of coaching agreement post his stint at NYCFC. Would be great to have another renowned player to the level of Vieira.

Clearly the need for Englishmen helped push this through, Xavi would be a cracking loan signing otherwise! Could throw the EDS out in the League Cup with Xavi and Lampard in the middle... wow!

No big story this.

Will hardly play at all. Might feature in a few cup games and maybe last 15 mins away from home in the CL if needed to shore the game up tactically.

But this is a training exercise.

I agree. You can never have too many winners. He's won the Premier League what... 3 times? He's a Champions League winner. The mentality is so strong in our squad, and Lampard adds to that. But as much as younger players can learn off him, I'd also like to hear what Lampard thinks about training alongside Yaya and Silva etc, because he can sure as hell learn a thing or two off them himself!

Almost everything I seem to have read about this in the press and on-line keeps saying that NYCFC are owned by Manchester City FC.

Isn't this wrong?

Aren't NYCFC, Melbourne, and us simply all owned by the same company (City Football Group) and MCFC as a club don't actually have any ownership of the other teams?

Either I've got this completely wrong, or 90% of the press/bloggers/football web-sites can't be arsed to find out the real situation....

I hope he is not on the phone after trainings to tell Jose all our tactical secrets, weaknesses etc.
:D
