Lancashire CCC

So let me get this right,if we had scored 300 in first inns we would have gained an extra point and stayed up ?

Correct. As noted by the previous poster, we were docked a point in the home game against Yorkshire for a slow over rate: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/jul/24/joe-root-career-best-figures-yorkshire-lancashire

No one else had any points deducted, so that one lost point has effectively cost us our First Division place.

Lancs relegation is a bit of a joke really when you look at some of the numbers.

Same points as Notts.
Lost less games than Notts.
3rd best batting bonus points (likely finish 4th best), despite the batting really being the problem.
Highest bowling bonus points.

Some very poor capitulations are the cause, Surrey, Yorkshire to name 2, and a late collapse yesterday.

We were 273 for 7, needing 27 runs for the last 3 wickets to gain the extra batting point we needed. Then a few minutes later, 273 all out.

It also pisses me off to read stuff like this from the captain:

If you have enough dismally poor sessions to ensure that you finish with the record we did, you finish exactly where you deserve.

Kerrigan, Brown and Lilley all released today

Sad in a way but fuck me we are full of average players. Can't see Brown or Kerrigan signing anywhere else and Lilley might only get a white ball contract. That test call up for Kegs absolutely destroyed his career. Stil, he was brilliant in the title winning season and we should thank him for that. Brown had a purple patch in one-day cricket a few years ago but he's never really played to his ability. So much disappointment with him.

Yes - I remember watching on TV Kerrigan's first ball in Test cricket - a rank long-hop to Shane Watson (I think) that went for four. He just couldn't get it right and his eight overs cost 59 runs. He wasn't risked in Australia's second innings and he never played for England again. Great shame.
If you look on the club website it's all about selling tickets for the 2019 Test. That may say something about priorities.

I see Giles is about to walk out on Warwickshire to replace Strauss as England Director. Good move for him I guess.

We have signed 2 Aussies as our overseas players next season ...Glen Maxwell and opener Joe Burns
Good couple of signings, we should walk promotion next season. I see Livingston is going to be in the IPL auction aswell, that must be the reason he stepped down as captain.
