Last Film You Saw

Endgame

9.5/10, they nailed it basically. Loses the .5 for something minor, that being

nerfing the power of Thor and hulk to make beating gauntletless Thanos impossible after a peak Thor walked through him in Infinity War. I guess there just wasnt a timeline where Thor didnt become a fat alcoholic.

Paul Schrader's First Reformed.

It has had excellent reviews and is worth a look in the light of what Extinction Rebellion have been getting up to. But be warned that it definitely also falls into the 'art house' category,

Reverend Toller is the new Travis Bickle.

"Are you talking to me?"

Endgame has already taken $400M at the box office which is pretty mental considering it's only been out for 3 days. Expected to take $1B by Wednesday

Yeah, it's currently shattering box office records around the world for an opening movie; including biggest single day in UK. I know the car park at our nearest multiplex was exceptionally busy for a Thursday and the showing we went to was sold out.

I assume word of mouth on the movie is good (as reflected on here) so business won't ease up this weekend.

On Endgame, I like this quote from a US movie critic (Bob Mondello):

"Just know that no matter how much homework you've done, what actually happens, the order in which it happens and the folks to whom it happens will still pack surprises - also tongue-in-cheekiness and quite a bit of lump-in-throatiness. I saw "Endgame" with a theater full of critics, and the sniffles - my God, the sniffles - also the knowing chuckles and eventually the cheers when the big showdown arrives, as it inevitably must."

It was pretty predictable though.
