The ending totally spoils it. Absolute handwringing bollocks which ruins a good movie. The only film off the top of my head with such a stupid change of tone is Wonder Woman. It totally compromised the authenticity of the film. Gritty and "real" to an ending dripping in moral bollocks, what a waste. If he grew to like and respect him all it would take was a whistle or call to Charlie not to shoot at any point in the previous 20 mins.

I also get he did not love his gang but a shout to them to go and spend their money was all it would have taken to end it, meh.

I watched it a few years ago and remember now why i didn't care to watch it.
