Tried watching it two or three times now. Just can't get into it, or warm to it. Going on the reception it's received, I seem to be in the minority.

A Dangerous Method. Been looking forward to seeing this for a while. Cronenberg/Mortensen/Fassbender, whats not to like? Keira Knightley, thats what. Nothing against her, but she was so OTT that the film was unwatchable. Had to call it a day after 30 minutes, just couldnt take anymore.
Going on the reception it's received, I seem to be in the minority.
I must be as well because I didn't think much of it either. Very very overrated in my eyes.

I watched it.
Phoenix is very good, but generally it seemed to be an origin story that has no purpose or place, as it's a Joker that I can't see being followed up on.
It's almost glorifying a mad murderer who has no redeeming feature or real cause. Just thought 'why' at the end.

The shark models didn't take direction well! Always loved Roy Scheider in that. In fact its extremely well cast in the three leads. The part where they're drinking around the table comparing scars then Brody asks Quint about his tattoo. That speech by Robert Shaw where tells the story of the Indianapolis. Goosebumps every time. Quite like Jaws 2, but the characterizations aren't as strong. Number 3 is improbable but 4 is utter Dirk Kyuit. At least Michael Caine built a great house with his fee!

That’s almost exactly what I thought. Very dubious message to it.
