Last Film You Saw

"Sus"...
on iPlayer...very good, a blast from times gone by and always think Ralph Brown is excellent.

Saw Many Saints of Newark last night. Thought it was decent, but was not suited to the cinema. It would be better a TV series or a number of TV movies. 6/10.

Watching Heat for the umpteenth time this evening. Saw it in the cinema when it was first released, knew it was a very good film, but it's only on many repeated viewings that I've taken the full measure of its greatness.
Stopped it just as they're walking into the bank, to save that astonishing scene for tomorrow night. Never seen a bank heist scene that comes anywhere near it. You're in it – in the very middle.

The Dark Knight has a really cool bank heist

If you have a good surround system it’s even better, gunshots everywhere, such a shame what’s happened to Val Kilmer.

I remember reading that Michael Mann and his sound people had consulted ex-SAS (or Navy Seals, or some such) about the actual sound of gunfire in battle, to get it as right as possible. Now I've not been in battle but it does sound really authentic, to my ear.

What's up with Val Kilmer, by the way?
