Last Film You Saw

The Banshees Of Inishirin. Quite good. 7/10.

I'd pay good money to sit in the setting summer sun outside that pub with that view. Probably get pissed on with rain though.

65 (2023) - 5/10

I really wish they had developed the story a little bit more and fleshed out the characters. It's quite short for a film like this, roughly 90 minutes and I don't think that helped with the development. They wasted time on some unnecessary moments as well.

You could tell they were working with a budget but I don't mind that, if you want to make money you have to watch what you spend, Ant-Man 3 for example, $500m box office and they just about broke even.

I enjoyed the tension and jump scares it reminded me of Jurassic Park, the original ones. Telling you about the dinosaurs should be a spoiler but they literally ruin that in the trailer and the movie poster. They then spend 10-15mins on the introduction pretending you don't what the film is about and that's supposed to be the big reveal.

You’re jokin really fancied going to see it ffs

How on earth is "Everything everywhere" an Oscar favourite? I thought it was an utterly useless movie, couldn't even watch till the end.
I usually like A24 films. Haven't seen this but the public love it.

94% approval on rotten tomatoes and 8/10 on IMDb.
Even metacritic 84%.
It's very well regarded obviously.

Ugh. It was well acted, in a beautiful location, but what a ridiculous, incredulous story!

Honestly can’t believe it’s getting the plaudits it’s getting.

Tár, on the other hand, was a tour de force and Cate Blanchette was brilliant (again)!

Watched a Japanese movie last night called “Call me Chihiro.” Sex worker gives it up to work at a Bento takeaway counter. Relationship stories are quiet, but real. Great little movie.
Just watched Tar. I'll never ever think about watching that film again. It wasn't a bad film. The first hour and 20 was promising. I found the discussion about interpretation of music interesting.

However, if you can explain the final 15/20 mins of that film to me I'd appreciate it. The stakes were so low. Spoilers

Rich intellectual snobbish sexual predator loses her mind, job and family. Power corrupts...even if you're a lesbian shocker! Meh.

Blanchett was good.
