Last Film You Saw

Yep. What has the world come to when a high financed Power Rangers movie gets best picture.
It's almost like Hollywood is pandering to the massively lucrative Far Eastern market.
Nothing to do with that, power rangers is shite! Money never guarantees success (look at United!) but I watched the film and didn’t think her acting was anything special but they get their headlines. They’ve introduced the 10 films now because they are trying to salvage something as the masses know really their bums on seats count for nothing in the Oscars, think the fallout from Infinity Wars did this.

Quality doesn't count for anything at the Oscars anymore, if it ever did.
The awards are chasing the money streams.
Scorsese was right.

So, my day has gone from "Chang Can Dunk" to "Marlowe" (which I switched off), to .

"CCD" was much better than I thought it would be. Traversing from standard fare of coming of age to deeper aspects of parenting and friendships. Put a smile on my face, actually.

"Missing 2023" doesn't quite reach the interesting heights of the original, some of it is obvious and makes some improbable leaps and actions, but still has some plausible workarounds.

Kind of interesting, still.

I take it Neeson plays exactly the same role he does in every film?

Rarely have I enjoyed a day off whilst the weather is shit and I'm not feeling well!

I have just finished "Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre".

I like this Guy Ritchie film making. In fact, I would say it's all his work culminating in something almost as perfect as he could deliver! A little 'Bond', a pinch of 'Ethan Hawke', a dash of comedy, adventure, violence and double entendré and you have a possible franchise in the future!

I found myself laughing out loud in the first 15 mins with the writing and delivery, Brit style! Got me relaxed and locked in!

Great pacing, but slightly over edited, I found it kept my attention really well. Ritchie, obviously, has his core team of actors to pick from (Statham, Grant, Malone), but the addition of the excellent Plaza into that core (hopefully) gives the team a brilliant balance with that competitive female, edgy, comedic energy she brings. I'm a huge fan of Plaza and this role is simply made for her.

Highly enjoyable film without being spectacular, I recommend it.
