Last Film You Saw

I've a lot of time for Radcliffe - one of the biggest child stars of all time, and yet seems utterly uninterested in accepting any job he doesn't find personally engaging. Pivoted straight to being a single dad in a haunted house in The Woman in Black, played Weird Al in a biopic and even a flatulent corpse in Swiss Army Man. Currently in a Sondheim musical on Broadway, with Jonathan Groff, one of the biggest musical theatre actors of our lifetime. He's a really interesting actor, especially compared to someone like Emma Watson.
I've only watched two Harry Potter films but I've seen Radcliffe in a fair few other things and he always impresses me. I really rate him.

He started the stage career by doing Equus before the last Potter films.
Pretty big jump to make, and he doesn't seem to have much ego - as you say, he's made some interesting choices.

It looks as though Watson isn't that interested in the acting side and filmmaking generally - she's only had one real lead role in a major film, mostly playing in a few independents but not many. I suspect she has less range than Radcliffe anyway, but chose to go to university instead.

They've both come out of it as fairly balanced people though - and that's a good thing.

The English Patient. Not seen it for over 20 years but still an absolute classic.

Does it still stand up? Was on the verge of renting it the other night, but nothing is worse than seeing a film you loved many years later, and finding it basically ordinary or worse (that's happened to me several times in the last few years). I was worried that I'd be disappointed.

I watched all the Bourne films this week. 007 does not compare.

I think far more attention is given over to choreographing fight scenes properly now. That helps. Although they do take it to ridiculous lengths sometimes, i.e. the two Equaliser films, which I otherwise like. If anybody could do what Denzil Washington does in those, he'd basically be invulnerable.

I re-watched All The President's Men again last night. It's still on iPlayer if anyone is interested.

Two brilliant actors in Redford and Hoffman (as well as the bloke who played the dad in the TV show Crazy Like a Fox in the 80's.)

My interest in US politics rocketed after tRump got in and the subsequent events, so it was inevitable I found out about the previous scandal.

I'm trying to read the book on Watergate, but it is hard going. Not as fast paced as the movie...whooda thought it?!?

Rachel Maddow's book and podcast framed it in a more understandable way for thickos like me.

Still great. You wont be disappointed!

The Creator. Visually stunning but the film itself was poor. Hoped for much better.

Thought it was stupid that the US was fighting AI as its a global danger when in fact it was akin to the vietcong and was just robots with AK47's. Where was AI as an all powerful network of computers? Where were the AI generated weapons? Fighter jets? Tanks? Nope just robots with AK47's.
