Last Film You Saw

I re-watched All The President's Men again last night. It's still on iPlayer if anyone is interested.

Two brilliant actors in Redford and Hoffman (as well as the bloke who played the dad in the TV show Crazy Like a Fox in the 80's.)

My interest in US politics rocketed after tRump got in and the subsequent events, so it was inevitable I found out about the previous scandal.

I'm trying to read the book on Watergate, but it is hard going. Not as fast paced as the movie...whooda thought it?!?

Rachel Maddow's book and podcast framed it in a more understandable way for thickos like me.

Does it still stand up? Was on the verge of renting it the other night, but nothing is worse than seeing a film you loved many years later, and finding it basically ordinary or worse (that's happened to me several times in the last few years). I was worried that I'd be disappointed.
Still great. You wont be disappointed!

The Creator. Visually stunning but the film itself was poor. Hoped for much better.

Thought it was stupid that the US was fighting AI as its a global danger when in fact it was akin to the vietcong and was just robots with AK47's. Where was AI as an all powerful network of computers? Where were the AI generated weapons? Fighter jets? Tanks? Nope just robots with AK47's.

‘Rick, have you ever heard the expression that the customer is always right?’

Absolutely brilliant film! Think I’ll give it another watch this weekend.
