Last Film You Saw

Hate to break to you but

Hugh grant is english
Colin Farell is Irish
Tom Jones is Welsh
Tom cruise is American
Hitler was Austrian
Bjork is Icelandic
Putin is Russian
Quasimodo was from Stoke
What blew my mind is that Christian Bale is English with a really strong cockney accent.

The first time I heard him talk properly I thought it was fake!

Christian Bale is Welsh, not English.

Born in Haverfordwest.

Elvis. Poor fucker. Exploited, and ruined.

Colonel Parker (if accurate) is a piece of shit.
I loved this film.
I actually remember my mum trying to get me to go to bed (I was 4 or 5) because the 68 comeback special was being shown on UK TV. All she kept saying was "Elvis is coming on, Elvis is coming on!!" Lol
Mind you she was only about 24 so I'll let her off ;-)

I love If I can Dream from that special. You want to cheer Elvis on knowing the shit Parker put him through.

Watched the new Indiana Jones, thought it was pretty good, touches of the old magic and ridiculousness. Good time of year for adventure films and a bar of choccy.

Harrison Ford is really strong in it, he’s been great in carrying reprised roles in Star Wars, Blade Runner and now this in his later years.

Aware a lot of men have got annoyed about Phoebe Waller-Bridge in this one, but she’s great, a refreshing change to the previous films female characters who play a variation of damsel in distress ad infinitum.

Bit too much cgi but thought the de-aging worked well. 7.5/10 for me.

One life, wonderful film and Anthony Hopkins is top class. Have the hankies ready, it is the story of the guy that saved hundreds of children at the start of world war 2.
B++

Watched ‘Oppenheimer’, enjoyed it, the constant background music played havoc with my hearing though, was difficult to follow the dialog at times for me, thought it was just my crap hearing but my bird said the same thing and she’s not half deaf.

Watched The Great Escaper recently and thought The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry would be similarly heart warming. Completely depressing film. Don't bother
