Last Film You Saw

The Boy and the Heron

Hayao Miyazaki returns to the screen with a bizarre, brilliant, beautiful and complex film, with amazing animation and plenty to get the head whirring. Brilliant stuff, so creative.

9/10

The Marvels, utter dross but I had to see for myself. 1/10
It's all over the place isn't it? You literally don't give a shit about any of the characters, story is not developed in any way and the script (and tbh most of the acting as well) is atrocious. Hopefully that's the last nail in the hammer of that arc, and we can maybe start again afresh.

Devotion. Absolutely superb, about US Navy pilots fighting in Korea, specifically Jesse Brown, an African-American pilot and his buddy (played by Glenn Powell who was ‘Hangman’ in Topgun 2). Based on a true story, with great flying scenes. Highly recommended.
