Enjoyed that, Jeremy Saulnier (Blue Ruin, Green Room) gives First Blood / Rambo the 2024 treatment.

Major props to the protagonist, Aaron Pierre, who is a British actor playing the part of an innocent US ex-marine hassled by a corrupt sheriff and his band of crooked cops. This guy has Denzel Washington star potential (saw him playing Malcolm X with charismatic qualities like Denzel before him in the Genius MLK/X TV series)

All in all, Rebel Ridge [silly title aside] is a well grounded Friday/Saturday night Netflix film, perfectly paced, shot and put together.
