1. I watched (on TV) "The man Who Knew Infinity". Intelligent, moving, based on fact and a film for grown-ups, not adolescents. No violence or exploding cars, I'm afraid. "Bridge of Spies" was another film for grown-ups. There might be another one comes along in a year or two.

Fences - it was alright, can see that it has come from a play, heavy on dialogue and little else, excellently acted by Denzel and Viola Davis, who have been acknowledged by various awards committees, the latter will most likely go on and win an Oscar, she was very good. 7/10
