Last Film You Saw

‘Harriet’, based on the life of Harriet Tubman.
Really enjoyed it, love those films based on true stories that just seem to come out of nowhere really, what an incredible woman !

The French Dispatch

Can't believe there hasn't been more hype around this one. It's not available everywhere which may explain that, I had to go to the Trafford Centre to watch it but it's well worth it.

It's about a fictional magazine in a fictional twentieth century French town for an American Newspaper. It's a Wes Anderson film so it's quirky and weird but the settings are brilliant as you'd expect.

It's broken into 3 stories. The 1st one with Benicio Del Toro and Lea Seydoux is worth the admission alone. If you know you know.

7/10

2 very decent releases lately and well worth a watch. First the Last Duel with Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Jodie Comer directed by Ridley Scott. Second Last Night In Soho - a mixture of Horror and Suspense with a fantastic twist at the End. Apparently both not doing great business at the Box Office - great shame.

Las Night in Soho is great, the problem is I think it's a difficult film to market as people aren't quite sure what it is.

No Time To Die.

Bond, dead Bond. Nice transition vehicle which did most of the heavy lifting of paving the way for a new 007 now that Craig Daniel has retired from the role.
Enjoyably shit IMO

All is lost with Robert Redford.
stunning movie, only one character and no talking ! Sounds crazy but simply stunning.

A quick heads up that a rare Clint Eastwood movie and a Kubrick masterpiece are showing on BBC4 tonight.

21:00 - The Eiger Sanction (1975)
23:05 - Paths of Glory (1957)

The Soprano preqel. Cant remember the name. It was astoundingly awful. I havent been as dissapointed since I foind out Santa was a ruse.

Extremely violent, utterly ne-plus-ultra crazy and sort of straight faced about it. Bailed after an hour as I appear to be quite ill yet again and this was extremely fiery and disturbing.
Jeez....that's some sales work right there!

Heard the same sadly.
Probably watch it eventually but less of a rush now.

Liked the Irishman despite some of the reviews but couldn't get over the Polar Express CGI faces...

Watched at the cinema tonight. It's a bit slow but is quite enjoyable and the twist is unexpected. Not a bad little film, one that will certainly fly under the radar for most people.

I really like Anya Taylor Joy, such a great actress, loved he in The Witch and Queens Gambit.
I think she has a massive future.
