Last Film You Saw

Mandy- 2018 Nic Cage.

Nick Cage, weird, psychedelic, acid fuelled revenge flick. Not for everyone
The director nails the look and surreal nature of an acid trip, & while I haven’t had to have any chainsaw fights on acid ( stay away from power tools on acid) , we did run into a quite nasty group of bikers one night in a alt club in Sheffield ( turns out they had previously murdered someone, we saw a documentary on them a few months later! )
Visually stunning, great soundtrack, Nic Cage does what he does best, unhinged.

I think they’re actively looking into a sequel right now, both the director & Reeves have both spoken publicly about it recently.
And it’s DC, not Marvel. Regardless of the initial nationality & location, the Reeves version translated surprisingly well, & has aged particularly well. Let’s also not forget Hellblazer was set in the bleak Thatcherite 80s

Yeah, you're right about it being DC.

Think I got caught reading stuff about the latest avenue of the Marvel project lately, to say 'Marvel'. So that whole thing about 'canon' doesn't matter where DC are concerned!!

Captain America was just dull dull dull. Poorly edited, terrible script, little charisma. I like a smaller movie ie no world ending threat but this did feel like a TV series and a poor one at that. It has the smart zinger laden style but no memorable lines. The main villain character looks terrible (just make him normal looking like the guy from winter soldier) and has magical predictive powers that make no sense. His final move makes zero sense. It's amazing how quickly Marvel have forgotten how to make movies. Compare this to the first ant man which had a few production problems and it's a night and day difference - that at least looks like an actual movie

Blade runner 2049. (Amazon prime)
My only regret here is not watching it on the biggest and best cinema screen when it was released.

Brilliant movie

Scarecrow 1973 ,Gene Hackman,Al Pacino both actors at their prime, great film didn't read and review just jumped in 8/10.bbb35a3d-d22e-4b72-8709-6fddcc0c57d2.jpg

I think the Marvel films went downhill almost as soon as Disney got the rights

They also seem to cost so much money that isn't reflected on the screen. There are a couple of things about this one that I cant quite put my finger on. It moves too quickly (even though it's two hours long) and there are some close up shots of faces that make you feel like you're not watching a movie but a TV series. Then a couple of things makes no sense like why is Sam walking around with just the shield and not the whole suit. It doesn't feel thought through

You're right, it's just boring and instantly forgettable.
When will they stop churning out this shite!

A complete unknown. Last night.
I thought it was a great film and I wasn't even going to watch it because I'm not too fussed about Bob Dylan.
Glad I watched.
Don’t have to be a fan to enjoy, gives a good background to Bob and his early life in Greenwich Village…….Joan Baez, Pete Seeger & Woody Guthrie et al

The last full measure lots of male stars about the Vietnam war and the bravery of one man.
