Last whites of the east end

You make some valid points. However, the point of the programme was to portray a very real issue, not to ask viewers to like all the protagonists.

Luckily, most of our politicians don't live in such areas (or in Rayleigh or Hornchurch which receives the displaced cockneys) so it doesn't matter to them.

I know a lot of people who left the East End for Essex and they are the tops. They couldn't do enough for you!

They are hardly comparable with East Ham being turned into a poverty stricken Bangladeshi town with 99p close rails on the streets.

I am a big fan of diversity but I don't need a lecture from Bangladeshi about alcohol when I asked for directions back to the centre pub a few seasons ago!

Maybe that was a critical moment in your life when you had to choose a path with life long consequences .

Well I enjoyed a good few pints after the game with Blues and Hammers!

Shame we won't get the same experience at the Olympic Stadium but at least there will be modern facilities to help West Ham to progress!

My grandfather saw a black man in a pub sometime in the fifties, first time. He and his buddies diddnt know what to make of him!! That was in Levenshulme. My grandmother was Sicilian. I have irish family. But ive also seen the areas of Sheffield and Yorkshire where white people have been forced out. Its not racist, its true. Integration with the people you live around is key. If everyone could manage that it'd all be cool.
