Crouch has a better fitness record than RSC but that's all. The only reason Crouch wins headers is because he's tall & awkward to mark & 'sticks his head on things'.

The reason RSC wins headers is because he's absolutely brilliant at heading the ball & one of the best in the world at doing it.

If fit, he's better than Crouch at everything, in fact he's better than any of our current strikers at everything.

I can definitely see the reasons for signing Crouch but I'd rather not bother personally.

Barcelona, Europes best team, hardly have a renowed headerer of a ball. It isn't a necessity is it.

Exactly so Crouch is perfect.

Cahill , probably the best header in the world might be available for £30 mill if you can out bid Arsenal . :o)

And you can play the ball in to Crouches feet and he will hold it up to bring in players

Surely we can do better than Crouch! How poor was this guy against Andorra? He's the only player I know who's shorter when he jumps for the ball. And his goal was that much of an embarrassment even Capello broke into a laugh.

I do have to say though whether this is pure speculation or not it's definately a Mark Hughes type signing as is Lucas Neill.

With the resources we have available we should be looking to bring in top quality.

Why was his goal embarrassing ?
Surely it was a true poachers goal . If he did that for City against the rags in the 90th minute of an FA cup final , you would be singing his name for years to come .
He looks different , but the guy is a class player and his stats for both club and country prove that .
