Manchester City has terminated its discussions with AC Milan over the possible transfer of the player Kaka.
Following a meeting in Milan today, the Club felt that it was unlikely that the two parties could reach common ground for an agreement.

The discussions reached only a preliminary stage and the player was not involved at any time. No commercial terms were framed.

Commenting on the situation, Garry Cook stated: "Whilst Manchester City Football Club has an obvious interest in world class players of the quality of Kaka, we owe it to our fans that such a transfer must work on every level; commercially, financially, in terms of results on the field and within Manchester City's broader community."

Can't deny that I am gutted, and suprised. My (pure) guess is that they tried to screw even more money ot of us and we stuck by what we'd decided was the top figure.

Cheer up Blues - the side benefits will still be significant, as we are clearly the only show in town with big money, AND we have proved (twice) that we will walk away if people try to take the piss.

Let's judge this transfer window on 2nd Feb - not before. Who is to say that won't have signed another world class player by then, along with some run of the mill "fookin excellent" ones?

ssn saying at least one city player told him not to sign,

That said..... has he made the right decision. AC are skint... might play in champions league wont win it , wont win seria a.

they are a team of aging players or young hopefuls....... hopefully he will live to regret it.

So WHICH TRAITORS were telling him not to come?? Witch hunt time!!!!

This whole thing is a disgrace. We've been made a total laughing stock again. Just wait till the rags start on this one, the cnuts.

Milan were probably fucking us about so we walked. That seems logical. Don't think cook can be blamed for that as I suspect that the owners were kept informed. It's also possible that Berlusconi was playing both ends against the middle for his own reasons.

However, it may be that we will need to go back to Milan in the future so no point in antagonising them like Ferguson did with Real Madrid.
