Apart from when he plays Blackburn, where he gets beat 1-0?

Also, Mancini is 45, which may as well be a twenty something in coaching years. He spent his teenage years winning leagues and cups.

Guardiola is playing the Barcelona way, NOT the Guardiola way. He hasn't changed a single thing.

Rijkaard you absolutely have a point on, and you're correct in saying that he doesn't play this way. Think I probably overstretched the example, it's fair to say that many coaches play the Mancini way though.
Yes many coaches do, but they don't have our owners' cash to pick off the cream of European players....if we were on a budget then fair play but we aren't....think about it....when we signed silva didn't we all think of a more attacking style with flair and vision? and Yaya...for his thrust along with Milner? Yet is simply isn't happening...but even though I am extremely sceptical about Mancini I wil never boo him at games...but surerl I am entitled to point out what to my mind and many other City fans what is going wrong......
And of the Summer signings who were available?

You might be right! I could be ignorant on tactic! But what I watch is a team dominating games and making enough chances to win 2 games! Any team who are looking to win things should first of all dictate and dominate games. It's going to take time and I'm afraid people who think we are playing defensively won't change there mind about it and that is sad
Why should they change their mind? We are playing not defensivly but CAUTIOUSLY....that's Mancini's mindset - not to lose....fine if it works but it isn't....this is my main point. If Mancini set us up not to lose and we won 8/10 games 1-0 then i'd be happy - I don't need 5-0 every week......had that under Macin for a while - but his cautious approach isn't getting it's desired result and that is what MY problem is ......and it's been happening since he came.........
CAUTIOUSLY! There I can agree with you but I can understand it with all the new players we have that will take time to gell!

We dominated the game, possession shots corners etc as its been proved and shown on here. So people instantly blame the manager. Laughable. It really is, yes we didnt have our shooting boots on but of course because our players couldnt hit the back of the net, its Mancinis fault.
Now lets support city rather then slag em off whenever we dont get the perfect result.

er...YaYa, Silva, Milner...there's 3 for you....yes I do also admit we SHOULD be better with our 2 full backs playing a more attacking role than Richards and lescott currently do....but add those aforementioned 3 to what we already had and most other managers in the prem would be salivating......sometimes it's not merely the personel which determines footballing style but the mentality of the manager inflicted on those players.....otherwise every team other than the richest would play defensive sterile football when they don't....Blackpool by all accounts today went to the toon, attacked at will and won 2-0.....why? because their manager instructed them to do so................

-- Sat Sep 11, 2010 7:27 pm --

I will support City until my dying breath....doesn't mean I ssupport the managers failed tactics.....and as for dominating the game - well crikey, for the money we spent over the last 3 years we should be dominating games against Blackburn who are averahge at best - thugs at worst.......yet for all those beautiful stats on paper, we drew 1-1, and at no time in the game did we dominate to such a degree that Blackburn wilted under the pressure.......yes we had corners, yes we had posession......doesn't mean anything in football if you don't win. Inter Milan won the biggest prize in club football purely by NOT having posession for most of their games yet being lethal on the break.........a lot of the best teams do this......

Yes we should be dominating and we did. At the end of the day we just couldnt score, but you cant blame that on tactics because we created more than enough chances to score those goals. Other than that i more or less agree with what your saying

Roberto Mancini's record as Manchester City manager

Played: 33
Won: 17
Drew: 8
Lost: 8

Get behind the manager for fucking once instead of baying for blood at the slightest sign of turbulence, and we might actually be successful.

we have to give the manager time to get it right, he hasn't so far but it will surely click when we get our full squad to choose from.

ANY talk of replacing him so early in to his reign is nothing short of stupidity.

Why is it that some insist on associating criticism of the manager with not supporting the team?

Probably because if your wishes became reality we really would be in trouble.

Was heading back to my seat at half time, half way down the row a guy stopped me and said that first half was shit.
SHIT ..... I replied, look I have been watching this for 42 years and seen shit but is not shit. A new team gelling together that I dont expect to click till October what the f..k do you want ?
No sane Blue expected us to win the League this year
At some point in the season we are going to draw at home so just write today off.
God save me from the clowns climbing on the bandwagon
