But he has spent a crazy amount of money and the wage bill must be huge!
Hence why Martinez is going.

Great timing for us, perfect long term replacement for Kun, very similar players, and gives him 12 months to learn the league and club and the following season he will be the main man.

Well if we buy him he is not expected to make immediate impacts. He will be specially evaluated after next season. We are looking to replace Aguero here. No better strikers are available now. May be Kane but neither they nor us are interested in Kane. Him and Jaoa Felix are the two interesting us. If the price is right we will buy one of them if not then next season.

Not sure why we always have to buy the “finished article” after they’ve made the cheap move, had a good season, then their price is tripled, quadrupled or simply put a zero on the end?
Jesus is proof we are able to find young talent if we look and act. And, the Academy has had a decade to develop a striker. If we never give someone a chance, they’ll never show us what they can do. I’m not sure why we don’t have two Academy prospects on the bench every game, do that if we get 3 up, they can get some time and some experience in the Prem, and then further experience in the Cup games.
Strikers aren’t cheap once they’ve proven they know where the net is in a top league.And, they certainly aren’t cheap to us, because we regularly pay £50M for defenders, some of whom aren’t even starters!
