Lautaro Martinez

im pretty sure that they insisted on the €60m clause for some reason that would allow haaland to leave in 2021?

If your dream move was the rags & your Dad was Alfie Haaland, who has been in football for decades, would you let an agent stop you ?

Also, would both of you agree that it's a good idea to plan your future around joining up with the ex manager of Molde ?

The goals a team score win games, individuals not so much, see spurs for example. If Martinez scores less but the team score more job done. How many did the liverpool centre forward get this season?
Coming back to my previous point. If Aguero doesn't play for us do we win all those trophies?

A team can't always play well, but a goalscorer will always score you goals regardless of how tight a match is.

Replacing Aguero with a man who hasn't got the same instinct for goal is suicidal.
I'm not saying Martinez isn't a good player, he is but he's not a direct replacement for our main striker. He would definitely be an adequate second striker playing off a target man like Haaland.

I would go straight in for Haaland, for that reason.

We have the question of whether he 'fits' Pep's system of course. Well we also have the question of how long Pep is fitting our system, he might leave. Any other manager, would be happy with Haaland. Soon he will go way way beyond our usual transfer limit, so he will eventually be playing against us, for a rival, unless we get him.

If Pep decides he's staying for ten years but can't get Haaland to adapt perfectly, we could still sell him on without it costing us.

Because he will score goals, whatever. He would score, for us, it's obvious. So he'd be worth money.

We get Haaland, it takes him away from our rivals, it also means that anyone in the market for Sancho gets screwed, because they Dortmund don't need the money.

So it's a good strategic signing as well as adding a bunch of goals to our total.
He just has to stand there and wait for a De Bruyne cross and it's a goal. Would he have missed the Sterling chance at Lyon? My guess is no.

Pep won't always be around. We need another Aguero/Lewandowski and Haaland is the closest thing right now. He's only 20 and would improve over the years in a side with more creativity.

Those kinds of players are born to score goals. It's a God given talent that can't be taught. When teams go ahead against us we don't seem to have a Plan B. We don't really have a man upfront over 6 foot who can smash everyone out of the way and power a header into the roof of the net- and that's what we are missing. Kane/Haaland would have to change the way teams line up against us.

Some might say it's not how we play, but irrespective of that those players can mould into the system especially if they are good with their feet like Haaland and Lewandowski.

You would if you and your son wanted to make as much money as possible in his career.
If your motivated by money Raiola is the agent for you, he will make you rich but will your football reputation tarnished.

He remains Barca's #1 priority and despite the current chaos, I only see one outcome - he will soon be wearing blaugrana colors to start the new season

Not really arsed tbh but don’t you have enough forwards?

Messi
Suarez (£65m)
Griezmann (£108m)
Dembele (£135m)
Coutinho (£142m)

Reminding me of United, spunk hundreds of millions but the players don’t fit in to the team.

@BluePhil8

Blame the board & utter lack of sporting outlook

Moreover, of all those cited, none are actually strikers whereas Lautaro is
I’m sorry but how are Messi, Suarez and Griezmann not strikers when all of them have played large parts of their career in the number 9 position? If anything Martinez looks to be in the exact same situation as Griezmann and Messi - secondary forwards playing up top.
