National TT champion hopefully going to do his thing today. Come on G!

Against the world champion. Can’t wait, should be a great tussle. Don’t forget the Froome is a great TT rider as well and he is only 13 seconds down on 3rd place. Been the best TdeF for a while.

Roglic finished second ahead of Froome at the TT Worlds too! Definitely going to be an interesting one

Leighton, you are massive boxing aficionado and when I dip into the boxing thread I take your opinion seriously, you seem to know your onions so to speak and you love the sport, but that sport is riddled with performance enhancing tricksters amongst other dubious character traits but you never show the same ire as you do to cyclists and especially Sky, I am not a blind follower of Team Sky but I am a half competent 51 year old hacker, I ride regularly on one of the training climbs in Majorca, I ride it sometimes with a hangover sometimes not, I have ridden it full on maybe 3 times but I have no training plan, no dietary input in fact no nothing and I can get within 15 mins of a 25 year old pro team rider in peak health on a 7 mile climb, I reackon if I cycled anywhere near enough and was trained half competently I could cut time off my PB dramatically,.

I think what I am trying to say is that techniques in training, diet and basically not having to worry a stitch about a thing apart from training and racing a bike counts a lot for the way Sky perform and not masses of PEDs, there are too many cyclists who have passed through the Sky team who haven’t been successful with them maybe to have an axe to grind but none have a blown a whistle.

Oh and Wiggins will not be wanting for money any time soon I would think.

Well said @discopop , I'd agree with all of that. In terms of singling cycling out over other sports, I'd also add a comment on football, where at the recent fifa world cup, their leader made great play of the fact there had not been a single positive drugs test in the whole tournament, as proof of how clean the sport is - whereas for me, exactly the opposite is the case.
Where are the regular blood tests and 'biological passport' in football. Should be done (independently) on all elite academy players onwards.

I know the sport of boxing is full of it. Which sadly breaks your heart it shouldnt be like that. The sport need to go down the route of Olympic testing as standard for all the fights. Yeah true there will be boxers ahead of the testing there always is. Sadly we see some World Champions that have tested positive and they come back to fight again. The only way to do it is a pernament ban to fighters or sport stars who dope. There on good money some of these guy. No point banning them for a few months or a year. The boxing boards just need to have universal rules. No doping. More so in boxing where a fighters life is at risk in a combative sport more so its a must.

I have said in the past my brother would of missed out on representing Ireland in a Olympics by .2 of a second and he was left behind. He later found out a guy who got the A time went for Ireland and was done for doping. It happens everywhere but there are clean sports people out there who wouldnt even dream of doping. I honestly think the TUE's should be banned from sport too. If your sick your sick you can compete. Thats just me. So yes i may be a bit harsh on SKY but the rules are rules regarding the inhailers and stuff like that. To go over that regarding Froome he still should of been banned in my opinion. I will always watch the tour been watching it as a kid just we all know every team is doping. Armstrong when catch was quoted as saying everyone was doing why go after him. He was just never caught as whoever went out to get him they soon lost there jobs. As Lance was the man back then.

What, a, time trial. Great ride by G and Froomy. Looking forward to next year already with Demoulin, Roglic, Froomy and G.
