Liverpool are having one of their all-time seasons performance-wise. We are still in 4 (FOUR) competitions.
It was a weak performance today but we cant be mentally dodgy to win 2 trophies last season and still be fighting on all fronts.
I notice this thread was silent the last 3 weeks.

It annoys me that the leadership of the club fail to address what needs addressing every Summer after we win the league.

We have some very bright people running our club but they really should have learnt by now that you have to do more after winning a title.

Yup. There's a real limit to what a manager can do in those circumstances. The players know what they have to do. They know the manager won't be happy with them. Several of them stank the place out. Pep have danced on the side of the pitch with pom poms like an NFL cheerleader and it would not have lifted them.

There are more than enough leaders in the squad, last season proved that but however good you are it's hard playing against packed defences 2-3 times a week, eventually it catches up with you. It's not a computer game, the answers aren't always so simple. We didn't put away the chances when we had them and it bit us on the arse.

It could have happened to the Cultish ones a few times this season and it may still do so.

I agree in principle but in reality we play like we do have to win every game 5 nil. I think it takes too much out of the team to constantly chase more and more goals rather than just managing a game and shutting up shop certainly when it gets to 2 nil

No, they should show individual leadership. Of course it’s Pep’s job to inspire them, but pride has to come into it. Example, Rags vs us at home last season. 2-0 down, getting battered, facing a humiliating title unveiling at their local rivals ground and playing for a miserable defensive manager. Their players said ‘fuck this’ and came out fighting.

Palace scored 3 past us, 1 was a fantastic goal, but tonight was a fucking whimper and the players needed to get their heads out their arse and put in a performance.
