League cup draw - United (a)

Potentially us and Barca could have 6 points each when we play each other. Only needing a point each to virtually assure mutual qualification. We could easily put a side like the one we tore them a new one in a couple of weeks ago and not be duly concerned.

Regardless of the result, this game will be an unwelcome distraction, with both Managers shielding their influential players from unnecessary suspensions and injuries.

Unfortunately Aguero and Nolito have both proved that City are never far from a retaliatory moment of petulance, so I won’t be too surprised if Fellaini's the first name on their team sheet.

Also, City won this competition last year, but the season was still viewed as a failure. Those post-christmas, two-legged semi finals are both physically and mentally draining (City losing Negredo and De Bruyne to serious injuries in recent campaigns)

As others have alluded I would much rather we win with Angelino and Garcia pulling the strings.

I wouldn't mind tbh.

Maybe just one change, to either play one of our first team mids where Angelino played or pick a specialist midfielder from the EDS to play there. Angelino is still learning the position.

If Delph is fit he would probably replace Angelino.

Neither is being beaten by United, particularly as there's no need to be. Strong as possible

Looking at the fixtures this game is sandwiched between 2 easy games where we could rest a few! Think pep will go strong and really try to wipe any last bit of confidence the rags have left if fit i think this will be his team

Something raggish about the way some are treating the league cup.

If Pep gets the mix right of experience and breaking in future first teamers, as well as the the way the draw has gone it's very winnable without being detrimental to the other competitions were in.

Mix of youth and established will be fine
