LEAGUE CUP WINNERS 2013/2014!! Post Final Thread

That piece by Simon Curtis is brilliant. Just read it after watching the TV footage of the game and it has me even more emotional than I already was.

We definitely were below our best in the first half but we were not awful. The team still had Wigan on theri minds in thT half; especially after going one down when we had started with complete domination. Too many things just didn't quite work. Boy did they work for our first two goals. Yaya's just gets better every time you see it.

Not far off it, it has to be said. Better in the second half, while still some way off what we were coming up with in the autumn. However; ''make some room on the mantlepiece, there's another pot to fit on it''!

I'd already seen your post about getting back before I posted that ;-)

I parked at the stadium and fluked a great shortcut to beat the traffic out, walked through door in Rammy at 7.50 which I thought was a sterling effort consdidering the driving conditions on the way home. Nearly pissed now as well after necking a bottle of fine red.

Some Sunderland fans where still stuck in the car park two hours after the game.

And on way home heard M1 closed all 3 lanes 27/28 so sounds like a long journey! I got back to car 4:55 home 8:30, rain was horrific too.

I'd just got off at Junction 25 when I heard that. I'd been thinking about going up to Chesterfield - glad I didn't.

I heard M5 got shut as well due to a crash, fortunately it was about 30 mins after I flew through it.
