LeagueCup SF - Man Utd - away allocation of only 3000 (p30)

The gmp year after year get the most money out of all police forces for football. Football wise they are useless. Every week when away fans kick off in home section of ground they just wait until the stewards have sorted it then come steaming down.

Make a change for them to actually do something and earn the overtime they are no doubt claiming.

I suspect the clubs made the decision in the light of policing costs which would have been considerable (around £70k for each leg).
Exactly. The police will not cooperate in the future if we don't comply. Biggest gang in the country who call the shots. It is naive to think otherwise.

Will be interesting to see how low this goes given that you have to supposedly in the LC cup scheme for starters...

As Morrisey once said. 'this joke isn't funny anymore',

Very disappointed in you City. Another nail in the coffin for the working class football fan. 3,000 Blues stuck in a corner nowhere near the pitch v 3000 raggies behind the goal, pitch side cheering that shower of shit on, yeh great semi final.

It is nothing to do with the police, just like they didn't alter the KO time for the last Derby simply because they did not have the power to do that. They can state the number of officers they believe should be inside the stadium and if a club refuses to pay for them, the police can refuse (with the councils co-operation) to grant it a safety certificate. They cannot dictate to a club how many tickets are distributed.

Police decision no doubt. Whatever your view don't blame the clubs. If they argue against it they can't win so no point blaming City.
If it was up to GMP to decide KO times/attendances do you really think they'd allow a 5.30 KO for a Derby, on a Saturday afternoon a couple of weeks before Christmas?
Let's not lie to ourselves here, both clubs & the EFL/PL are happy with this attendance & the police have little, if no, say in it.

2 weeks for the ticket office to turnover 8 to 10k tickets with the majority of their staff on holiday. I think maybe the 2 clubs have agreed to make this logistical headache go away by hiding behind the excuse they've come up with

Yep, a complete and utter bottle job from both clubs. As for saying it’s to ensure the safety of the fans - which no doubt they will - the flip side is that being part of a lesser travelling support can be more of an issue when leaving the ground as opposed to “safety in numbers”, and with it being a cup tie it’s bound to be edgy as fuck for both sets of fans.
