Lee Nelson's: Well Good Show....

i`d never heard of him until soccer am on saturday and he had me in stitches saying he was a huge united fan and become one the day after the treble in 99..
i think some people are missing the irony and the piss taking that he is doing,can`t people see it in his sketches,the footballer sketch is bang on the money,who as a football fan hasn`t thought that`s what footballers really think? couldn`t give a shit,want lots of money,etc...
i think he`s well funny innit....

really enjoy the show

quite surprised how many on here really hate it, the sketches he does are brilliant and he is a very quick guy , does alot of interaction with audience and always gets it spot on.

for those that dont like him ... is this clip not funny ?

Got to say that Jason Bent is quite funny because it has a relevance to today. But the chav thing is a few years old now so he's too late with it. And although some things can raise a giggle it's some awful comedy

Sketches based around those observations have been done hundreds of times before. The reason being that it is so obvious. All he has done there is maybe X-rated it up a bit.

But that's all he's relying on. Shock value and a recognition from people that this is an exaggeration of something they kind of recognise from their own holidays and snide tv programs.

There's nothing clever there and there's no wit, originality or anything that marks it out as decent comedy.

As I commented above with his 'chav' character (is the character called Lee Nelson?) I am sure that a huge percentage of the people laughing are not laughing at the 'comedy' as such and are just the sort of dumb asses who will laugh at something because they can associate themselves with the fuckwit behaviour or language. I doesn't rely on comedy, it relies on people laughing cos "it's rude" and because "oh yeah, that's a tiny bit like me/someone I know".

Observational comedy, I suppose. But a poor version of it with nothing clever added.
