Leeds (H) | Post Match Thread

Sterling doesn’t deserve another start, his decision making is absolutely shocking and the finishing is worse. All his “lovers” need to justify his performance today, it was a disgrace for someone who is trying to negotiate a Pay rise/ contract. He wasn’t alone today, Gabby was as bad and Mendy even worse.
Not sure how we go forward from this defeat to a 10 man mid team table.
Our ability to fcuk up chance after chance is comical.
Chill man, we have 40 points in the bag, were safe for another season.

Still annoyed at the performance yesterday. We are making a hash of winning the league this season. If we are not careful going forward we will be in a title fight. Stats or no stats the team picked yesterday should be able to beat 10 men. Stop fucking bout and get the league won. Yesterday all involved fucked up.
Lost one game = making a hash
What nonsense.

Are you really a blue? Those are some bizarre comments for a side that is carrying all before them.

Mendy has been struggling but Jesus and Sterling are top quality players. I agree Sterling had a bad game but it is you that has to justify your hostile stance not City fans who support Sterling and see their side top of the table.

I am a bit concerned about the form of Sterling but he will come good again. Jesus needs chances. Yesterday we couldn't get in behind Leeds and couldn't get Jesus the ball in the box largely because we played a reserve side and everyone understands why. I would have brought on Mahrez after an hour to get past their defenders.
Add in the fact that Jesus was being targeted by "dirty" Leeds.
Foul after foul committed on him and nothing was done until the potential leg breaker. (Anď even then it took var to get the correct decision!)
People wonder why Pep didn't risk our best players?
I guess he wanted to get through the game with no major injuries to worry about.
Pep introducedt better players into the match after Leeds were hamstrung.
Sterling was ineffective, true, but how much of that would be down to Pep instructing him not to risk injury?
A hard defeat to take (as any defeat is) but no fitness/injury worries to speak of for the more important fixture on Weds.

Well we didn't and if you rest a lot of players and then coast against a good well coached side you can have problems. We needed a cutting edge against Leeds. That for this City side is usually KDB, Foden or Mahrez.

Can you imagine though if we had started one of them and they had picked up an injury. We did the rught thing. Give credit to your opponent. Maybe grumble that pep made the wrong subs and the players who started strolled instead of fought.
It will only be justified if we beat Dortmund. Rest who tho? Kev? Sure he has hit form over the last few games but he was rubbish prior. Foden? No need to rest him at his age. Gundo and Rodri I can accept. Dias/Laporte not playing was the deciding factor. The rest put out yesterday served up total shit. Passing was off, closing down non existent. Shooting was pathetic and chance creation abysmal.

Leeds played a good game but a lot of the squad members need to stop hiding behind key players and help win games. Total fuck up yesterday.

Sometimes though Jesus does go down very easily, and stay down in apparent agony. I think a self-preservation skill he learned from playing in South American football where it's probably a lot tougher than here.

I was gutted to get beat but it's obvious why we played a weakened side. Some criticism I think is due for not bringing on Mahrez. He'd have got behind their defence easily. Easy to say that when he's not in the side. Sterling will come good again but his form has dipped. I think he's trying to do too much when he gets the ball.

The reality is that top sides need their special players to turn games and we didn't start them. Nor should we have done. We wanted the weakest possible side that would win the game and we went too far and then didn't make the right sub. And it went for Leeds. 2 attacks, 2 goals.

i got stick on here for saying sterling mendy jesus would not turn up and not give 100% today for missing out on starting champions league game midweek but the whole team besides stones was shocking

this result was coming for weeks and its the lack of goals or striker. am praying in the summer for haaland
but the truth is we need 2 strikers not just haaland. sterling is finished at city. jesus is not a striker. torres is not suited to premier league football

the media rave about this city squad. but the truth is they who don't play kick the dummy out of the pram when they are picked in meaningless games in the premier league and cups games. if we keep playing this 2nd string the lead in the league come down fast. utd will keep getting help and dodgy pens and say thank you for the 3 points

pep should be all over the players in the dressing room it was not good enough and you got shown up to a team that played with 10 men for the whole of the 2nd half ? if was pep i would be offering the door to mendy sterling jesus right now and say fuck off and don't come back

forget winning anything other than the premier league just get the title in the bag and then rebuild in the summer
we are not that good a squad people think we are. over paid players are taking up spaces on the bench that youth could be used. there is 3 or 4 good youth players good enough right now for a place in this squad

mendy sterling jesus aguero garcia torres thank you and good bye
Look we are are fantastic side, but nothing is a given champions to be are ruthless in situations like today,we have seen this before but really if your looking to win even the champions league then you sometimes need to knuckle down and grind things out or come from behind we can’t even do it against 10 men in a league game at home ffs,it’s absolutely appalling ..
We ground it out only recently against Dortmund...

If we lose on Wednesday how is it related to yesterday? We rested some key players so they can be fresh for the new game lol.

Rotation is not a new thing, check the games prior Pep rotates at least 5 players every game. So no one needs your justification.
