Leeds United 2016/17 thread

Hopefully they stay on winning ways. A team of Leeds stature and history should always be in the Premiership.

I think you mean "sort of recent history" say 1968-1992. Did they win anything before or after?

Actually you could be right when you mention the "premiership". Revie's Leeds team often looked like they belonged in a rugby tournament.

Absolute nonsense. Any team gets themself in the PL by performing on the pitch. Stature, size of support (though it wasn't jam packed last night) or the dreaded "history" doesn't earn anybody a place in the top tier. Using those 3 criteria I just listed, did we then deserve to find ourselves in the third tier of English football? Of course we didn't. But going by what we were (or, more accurately, weren't) delivering on the pitch,we absolutely deserved to end up where we did. Of course the likes of Hull, Watford and Bournemouth are smaller clubs than Leeds and Newcastle. But they've earned their place in the top flight by producing where it matters; on the pitch. When the Geordies and the Yorkies do the same, they'll get the same reward.
