Leeds United (A) Post Match Thread

Think we thought we’d get by with Jesus till Aguero gets back we didn’t bank on Jesus getting injured. Also seems this season our priority was sane replacement and a centre back.
the last 2 summers we have got it very wrong, Tixki is making a balls up of our squad, the quality is diminishing rapidly as is the $, the dude has made some poor , poor buys

Am I the only one who’s kind of ’okay’ with this result?
You guys have to be able to see how well Leeds play? Chelsea, United or Arsenal can’t play like this.
The result isn’t why I’m frustrated.

Teams who challenge for the league win games against promoted teams. That's not being entitled at all.
Unless you are simple and don't understand what entitled means. Then I understand where you're coming from
When we’ve won the league we’ve dropped points against relegated sides

Rodri was the best player on the park today.
I thought he made correct decisions almost every time. However, his effectiveness is impacted by our press.

How was our press? Well fuck. My four-year-old son told me during the match asked me, “Daddy why don’t city take the ball?” Now he doesn’t know about pressing, but maybe he actually does and I’m not giving the snot-nosed brat any credit because he said it during a moment where their defence got the ball from the keeper and Mahrez just stayed 20 yards away, and relaxed on the pitch and let them play.

I’m not a huge Rodri fan but I guess I drank enough 9.5% beers to look at him objectively and I truly believe after today that if our forwards worked harder, this guy would be shining.

Never a corner for there goal. Changing a rule in an ongoing season is a farce.. so its a pen one week and not the other.. also pen on sterling after. Ignored red at the end.. There not even hiding it.

I had meant to watch that back it looked like he just shot it wide? Was it a corner?

Very impressed with Dias and we could easily have lost that with any other in his position. He keeps a cool head and makes intelligent decisions. Reckon he’ll be a real gem.
Mendy on the other hand, i was expecting to get sent off at any moment. Players go around him like he’s not there and then there are his mistakes! He regularly passes to the opposition and i don’t agree with anyone that thinks he had a good game. All teams know to atttack down the right, as we have the red carpet rolled-out!
Very worrying that Ederson is dropping howlers. Yes he pulled out some blinders, but the kind of mistakes he’s making are schoolboy errors.
Just as worrying is the striker situation. Aguero regularly injured and Jesus has a poor conversion rate, albeit he does score a fair few goals. This looks like it is going to be the situation until next season and it’s going to be a long one!
I seriously think we’re going to struggle with top four this season and i honestly don’t think that will translate into a new contract for Pep!
We are looking like a decent team and no more. All teams in the division will fancy having a go at us. Defend with your lives for 20-mins, then attack, attack, attack!

Think there's been an over reaction to this game probably due to where we currently are and with last week's defeat still raw. It was a good game and we played well for a good portion of the game considering no pre-season, covid, injuries, fixture congestion etc. I think there were enough signs of things coming together in that game.

But we do need a striker and we have two glaring weaknesses in Mendy and Mahrez. We better be working round the clock these next couple of days because we still need players.
