Leeds United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Unbelievable. There is nothing wrong with it, every team every week has players that feign injury to their advantage. Usually it is to waste time, Pep uses it to change tactics and we get called out for it? The Leeds manager is pathetic mouthing off about it and the press are blatantly anti-City running with it.

Would love to know what Pep could be possibly be saying at HT that would change a decent performance into crap one so quickly. Complete mystery.
We were winning 2 nil at halftime. It was down to Leeds to make a game of it. They changed formation and had a go at us and it worked. Because Leeds scored so early in the second have Pep did not have a chance to change our approach to combat it. It was an individual error that allowed them back into the game and yes we did struggle for a while in that second half. However, we fought back and won the game.
We are not the team we were but things will get better. We do have talent in this team. I so hope that Rodri can get back to his best. He would make such a difference to all the players around him.

Agree with all that fella. I said before season started I expected a fight for top 4 again and hopefully a domestic cup. Our first 11 is good enough to compete on its day with anybody. It's not good enough to win the big ones though IMO. I do feel a hell of a lot of money has been wasted on some very average players.
Was saying the same thing to my old man and the lads next to me today. They're the sort of players Spurs would be in for. Nico G the only player who looks the real deal. Chelsea are a basket case but have signed some proper talent in their transfer mess, I'm not sure we have. A lot of money over the last two windows.

Not seen the game back but from my view in Block 011 I was adamant the 1st goal was offside, it was for the phase just before the end pass hit one of their players. Is my eye sight deceiving me or what ?

I think we are the second or third best team in the country. It's a weaker league at the top, and strong in the middle. We aren't so far off that it's impossible, but either Arsenal need a serious collapse or we need to improve. It is what it is, who knows where we might be in the cups in the spring.
We're only 4 points behind Arsenal and they might not win tomorrow at Chelsea. 3 weeks ago, when Arsenal were world beaters - after they took over from the previously best team in the world, Liverpool - they drew at Sunderland. In 8-10 weeks time, they may start shitting themselves as they usually do in the Spring.

Providing we don't shit the bed in the meantime, maybe it's still all to play for, and those 3 points today prove to be critical for us. We made hard work of it but we beat what was in front of us.

Just sayin'.

Haaland scored 1 of our last 7 goals in the league. Our reliance on him is a bit overblown. Shame Phil didn't score at Newcastle.

We need to sign proven Premier league talent
I agree. Some of these from abroad seem to struggle in first season with us. Yet strangely enough seem to do well at the likes of Bournemouth and Brighton.

We desperately need to physical players used to the PL like Wharton, Tonali, Semenyo etc.

Think back to what a top team we had when we had Raz, Kyle, Jonny, Fabian, Riyad who had all played for other PL clubs and adapted well - took Mahrez a bit longer though, but by heck he delivered.

We need some cojines of steel.

Anderson from Forest and tell Spurs they can have Savhinio for Van De Ven would make the spine stronger
I read somewhere today that City are tracking that Anderson, in preference to showing an interest in Wharton ..... Anderson has been getting some rave reviews, and could be a good signing .... Forest would no doubt want a small fortune for him though!

Nah. Its really shit. The fact that all teams now do it doesn't make it right. BBC wankers for trying to use it to make it look like its just us doing it though, or our fault.......but its a shit practice, hate it when teams do it to us. It needs to disappear from the game.

Yep, imo it’s 100% a Pep problem. Love the guy but it’s just not working, so many things I think he gets wrong currently, and yes I know he’s “the bestest manager to ever walk the planet and I’m just a tit of a fan” but I’m allowed an opinion and I sit at the game with 2 eyes and can see there is so so much wrong,

Unfortunately I completely agree

We are now Arsenal at the end of the Wenger era. We need a complete change. Where that takes us I have no idea.

It's all become a bit stale and dare I say boring as fuck. Or maybe that's just football in general. Just better things to do these days I suppose

The second half wasn't pretty, some players appear to be off form and maybe a bit tired but they and we got the result and all of the points against a team of battles, their wylie manager and a dubious referee.

Games like this, at this time of the season, are the ones we have to win to be in the running when it matters later in the season.

Keep the faith, fellow blues.
