Reckon the early goal made a difference too, that should be our aim in home games, all out from ko try get a goal and their plan is out the window.

58th birthday, on call for a flight, fingers crossed they don’t call! They do!

But wait, 6:20pm flight to Amsterdam! Start doing the maths…pack, shower, get half ready (undershirt, pants, shoes, but no shirt, tie, jacket, hat!) make a quick sandwich before kick off at 2pm, watch the first half, finish getting ready at half time, soon as game ends zip off to airport just in time for Flight Operations check-in!

Worked out perfectly and what a sweet birthday gift from City!!!

Kids gave me brilliant cards before I left the house, very nice and competent crew, decent steak dinner on the flight, barely a ripple of turbulence up at 41,000 ft. Manchester looked lovely passing over at about 7:45 am this morning, and despite the low clouds, a smooth approach and landing in Amsterdam, 20 mins early at the gate!

Tucked up in my room in central Amsterdam getting ready for a nap, then a few hours of walking around town and grabbing some food before things close at 5pm!

My first solo (non-checkride with Check Airman) flight as a 787 Captain on my birthday and what a brilliant way to end it!

Thanks kids, thanks City, and thanks to the landing Gods for not smiting me and trying to ruin it all!

Now, time for some sweet dreams about counting City goals, not sheep, against the sheep shaggers!!!

Agreed. Against a team like this if we can bruise and batter them early on then it's game over for them.

Henry Winter's double page spread in the Times under the headline "De Bruyne weaves magic in City masterclass" was quite complimentary although he did mention in the first paragraph that Leeds' support was better than ours. And of c3ourse every mention of Grealish was suffixed with "the £100m man".

Was that before a quarter of them fucked off about a quarter of an hour to go, as the 6th went in? (Marching all together, Yeah, all the way down Ashton New Road!) He's an old school arselicker our Henry. Typical media hack loving to have a go at our support as some kind of negative to the game. They can fuck right off, from where I was, we out sung them all night except for that low key dirge they continuously mumbled 10 minutes from time until the end. Better my arse.

That’s some Birthday.

Never a dull moment, eh?! ;-)

Was hoping to stay home, watch the game, enjoy a nice meal and evening with the wife and kids (party was on Saturday, because I knew I was on call on Tuesday), but duty calls! Therefore, it was a quick sarnie while getting ready, watching the game and shooting off to work!

Amsterdam is on a 5pm curfew, so that was a bit of a dampener when I got here, but me and the missus will have a little knees up when I get home later today!

11am flight, home by 2pm, maybe watch our rivals on telly and have a nice dinner and a bottle!

In aviation, oftentimes birthdays and Christmas can’t always be on the designated day. When they say 24/7/365, they mean it, so you just plan accordingly!

Tbf, I’d take a sarnie, 7-0, and Amsterdam EVERY birthday, but it’d be nice to have the wife and kids along! :-)

You sometimes feel though without an early goal the oppo' sit in and it becomes a bit of a slog.

Watching Leeds v Arsenal and feel a little sorry for them. Arsenal are picking them apart and Leeds injury problems have certainly not helped them(only 8 players with prem experience). Can see a six or seven here tonight.
