Leeds United (H) - Post-Match Thread

Used to live backing onto the East Lancs Road 50 years ago. The wife asked me to give her some driving lessons which I was not keen on doing as I knew how it would end. Anyhow I relented eventually and took her for her first driving lesson, straight onto the East Lancs Road. She never asked me again! It was a very busy road inthe 60s and 70s with wagons coming and going to Liverpool. I presume its called the East Lancs because its in East Lancashire, or was then.
My old A-Z tells me it was supposed to go to East Lancs, presumably like the M62 eventually did. It was the "Liverpool to East Lancashire Road".

i woke up this morning hoping all the media sport headlines would be drooling about city last night
HOW wrong can you be ?? the media are a bunch of red rags and anybody think they are not anti manchester city
then go and look at when united or liverpool stuff a good team that was 9th last season
Henry Winter's double page spread in the Times under the headline "De Bruyne weaves magic in City masterclass" was quite complimentary although he did mention in the first paragraph that Leeds' support was better than ours. And of course every mention of Grealish was suffixed with "the £100m man".

in what way (according to him) were they better?

Simply a stunning performance! Leeds play in a unique way in terms of man marking all over the pitch and they caused us huge problems last season. Fuck me the analysts and Pep earned their corn last night. Not a cats in hells chance that any other team could replicate what we did. Started off with Foden, KDB and Mahrez as the front three, quickly changed to Grealish, Foden, Mahrez. KDB then went left and right, Rodri pushed on more than any other game I have seen, Foden coming back to almost play alongside Laporte and Dias and so it went on. Movement, intelligence, speed of thought and more besides. The only downside was that so many people left ten minutes before the end but that's every game these days. Fantastic night.
