Difficult one for Guardiola. If he starts the same 11 as started against Newcastle, he's just going to struggle to assimilate the other players. He knows he needs to work them all into the fabric of the first eleven, but realises he now has to do that 2-3 at a time. We could really do for three early goals and substitutions.

Absolutely must win game, we all talk about how bad last season was well at this stage last season we had 3 losses, 4 so far this season and we had a point more last season that we have now.
Point is this could well turn to shit just as easily as last year. And dont say the new players will make the difference from what we have seen they do not make us substantially better.

Prior to the international window we were well placed. First we played an average game at Newcastle where we were a little unlucky, and then Pep threw us under a bus, and now we have the Mighty Men. You couldn't beat an Everton side playing with 10 men for 80 minutes.

table is way too close, any side with two wins straight can jump to 2nd-3rd from 12th place.

Chelsea-Arsenal also this weekend, I dont think Maresca will lose, so we need to reduce gap on Arsenal. if we cant do that vs fucking Leeds that a joke especially with first 11 rested.

Leeds, Fulham, Sunderland our next 3 in PL, if we do 9 points we are still ok. 4 losses in 12 is a bit of a worry. bogey Spurs at home and away games to Brighton, Villa, Newcastle. problem is we still visit rags, Chelsea, Bournemouth, Palace, Liverpool, Spurs, Everton and those games can exactly go like our losses.

we are very hit or miss this season. its still early but we cannot find real rythm yet or great form. very few players in decent form over multiple matches. not sure how this whole transition working out to new style with the help of Leijnders. feels like Pep not fully sold on the ideas.

Wouldn't mind seeing us go back to a bit more of a solid look at the back

Donnarumma,

Nunes, Stones, Dias, Gvardiol

Nico, Nico O R,

Cherki, Foden, Doku

Haaland
Not a bad idea at all, actually.

Or, to go a bit rogue

Donnarumma
Stones Dias Gvardiol
Nunes Gonzalez Foden O'Reilly
Cherki Haaland Doku

Leeds are shite, they have no goal threat at all, and City really really need to bounce back from the Newcastle and Leverkusen results. The pressure is on for a win.

The first part of this statement is believable, but the latter regrettable.

We'll beat them by at least 2.

Our first team is actually very good. Newcastle game wasn't that bad, could have gone either way, just looks bad now in combination with last night.

Pretty certain we'll be back on form with a very comfortable win.

Donna
Nunes Dias Stones O’Rielly
Nico Bernado
Foden Marmoush Doku
Haaland

I doubt that is what we will do but that’s why I’d do. No right winger has been effective so start Foden there and get Marmoush behind Haaland. We need goals and Marmoush is the only one less Haaland and Foden with anything like a goalscoring track w

I'd probably go with Newcastle team but swap Marmoush with Cherki. I know Marmoush wasn't great last night but i'd have a go with this i think.

I'm struggling to comprehend that statement.
Most of the Newcastle bench shouldn't need to be "assimilated".
Savio, Bobb, Stones and Ake have been here a while. Marmoush arrived in January as did Khusanov. They've been here long enough to know the drills
Only Reijnders and Ait-Nouri arrived in the summer - so need more work. (Edit: RAN isn't displacing O'Reilly currently anyway)
I'd also say that the team at Newcastle was probably our strongest currently, the addition would be Rodri (possibly for Bernie so we have a double pivot)
But it's all about opinions eh
