Leeds Utd v City - 1976/77 FA Cup

Who was there when City took over at Sheff U which started what the police called 'The Battle of Bramall Lane'.

It ended up looking like Pilkingtons factory there was that much glass about. The bar at the back was cleared of every full & empty bottle which were used as missiles.

There was a lot of claret about that day !!

My memory is shot but I'm sure it was the lad from the underground market who sold Leather coats that twatted him.
I think it was a well known City lad called Johnny Khan who was fighting with McQueen ?.....Scary time going to Leeds in the 70s especially on the train. Went to both those Cup games by train and a long walk back. Thanks for the footage PB not seen that before. How the fashion changed a couple of years later and flares were well and truly binned!

I think it was earlier than that '73/74. Easter Monday game ?

The air was just full of glass, but it was all happening in a very calm way, like it was the most normal thing to do.

Dozens laid out round the pitch getting treatment.

Keeper couldn't take goal kicks.
