Leeds Utd v City - 1976/77 FA Cup

That Joe Corrigan save was my all time favourite save although when it happened I seem to remember he dived to his right and somehow turned his body round mid air and continued the dive to the left. Somehow it has been edited through time....

Great footage, real football, those tackles these days would have a guy rolling on the ground crying

The cup tie in 78 was one of the hardest draws we could have got and then the next round we got it even tougher with Forest away who went onto win the league that year. Strangely enough our luck in the draw has never really changed in all those years.

That edit doesn't really show it but I remember it much the same way. He shifted to his right as it looked like the ball was going to the far post but it was headed back across goal and he had to stop and twist his body. Far better than Banks' save in 1970, where he was diving the right way to start with.

Fantastic find, thanks for putting this on. I got my Big Joe saves mixed up, could have sworn it was in the next cup match, the one we won.

I remember being on the coach home from the next league game (we lost) and was listening to the draw when we got them again!

I remember that well as I was walking back into Leeds with a City-supporting mate who lived there. I always look a transistor radio to games and had the radio out, surrounded by Leeds fans (obviously I wasn't showing any colours) when the draw was made. "Leeds United will play......Manchester City". I nearly blurted "Oh fuck we've got to come back here again" when I stopped myself, put on my best Yorkshire accent and shouted "Ay up, we've got City again lads".

The kids of today have no idea what going to an away game was like back then. Getting back to Leeds or Newcastle stations was like being in The Warriors.

It was my first away game and I went on a Finglands coach with my brother and his mate. They were winding me up on the way telling me to practice my Yarkshire accent. Have to admit, I was a tad nervous that day. I was only 12.

Went with my late dad to this game, don't remember that much to be honest other than him telling me to not let go of his hand on the walk back to the car.
