Leeds Utd v City - 1976/77 FA Cup

2nd away game was Leeds not long after this '82 ish, i'm sure Tolmie & Parlane were playing and one of them scored. Anyway i was only 10 or 11 and i must say it was carnage under some tunnel and our coach returned to Manchester minus it's windows! Talk about throwing a young lad in at the deep end, i honestly thought we would be killed!
Great video.

Yes, I was there too. We'd signed Parlane on a free transfer from them and he scored the winner in the last few minutes. They weren't pleased and a little bit of me wished he hadn't..

The film's a great find, thanks.

As somebody earlier says, it's quite a shock to see how old fans are these days compared to then.

Also, you can see why Britain has had a tradition of long ball football with tricky wingers. There's no way you could dribble in the middle of that pitch. Mind you, there'd be no debate on here about playing the ball out from the back.

Birmingham same sort of thing 4 coppers and when the brummies came in they left all hell broke out they had us pinned in the top corner and the wall nearly collapsed

I remember that well as I was walking back into Leeds with a City-supporting mate who lived there. I always look a transistor radio to games and had the radio out, surrounded by Leeds fans (obviously I wasn't showing any colours) when the draw was made. "Leeds United will play......Manchester City". I nearly blurted "Oh fuck we've got to come back here again" when I stopped myself, put on my best Yorkshire accent and shouted "Ay up, we've got City again lads".

The kids of today have no idea what going to an away game was like back then. Getting back to Leeds or Newcastle stations was like being in The Warriors.

"Warriors... come out to play"... great film
