Interesting question. I say we do.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Laporte
Mendy
Fernandinho
De Bruyne
Silva
Sterling
Aguero
Sané

On paper this is probably our best XI. Of course for some games that won't be the best option. Bernardo and Mahrez are probably the closest to being in that team.
Mendy???? Edit Ah sorry it's not team for tonight!

One good thing is that it's blowing a gale, which may upset Leicester's long ball style. However, I am still going for a home win simply on the basis of motivation. They need to win the trophy to get into Europe and might feel revengeful after last season's penalties exit.

Not sure I would start with Mahrez in this one. I can hear all the 'professional player', 'should be able to handle the pressure, 'just get on with it', 'it's part and parcel of the game' responses, but I imagine he'll get a mixed reception from their support, particularly in a cup tie, and he doesn't strike me as someone who'd be unaffected by that.

Indeed, it got me wondering: who was the last player we signed from an English club who went back there and had a blinder?

Considering the tragic helicopter crash Mahrez might not be in the best frame of mind but I am sure Pep will ask him and I am sure he will want to.

On the broader question, Walker always tries to hard against Spurs, Sterling rarely performs at Anfield and Stones I can't recall performance wise at Goodison. Did he play in the thrashing we took? I think he played well there last season.

Tevez springs to mind. Always stepped it up against the rags. Adebayor at home to Arsenal was immense that day he scored and ran the length of the pitch. Don't remember if he was any good at their place.

Would be surprised in Mahrez played, might be on the bench.

Cup game and would be a little more confident if it was for 3 points.

Again if we play at or near our best we should be too good for them.

Stones was part of the thumping but missed the victory at Goodison last season. Can't remember if Delph was any good when we played Villa in the Cup or just tried too hard as well. Nasri and Clichy (less so) were two more who seemed to struggle against their previous club.
Tevez was the recent one that stood out for me.

Given a Cup Final with a full weeks preparation everyone will have their own best 11 and I bet they are all roughly similar.

However mid-season with weekend, midweek football a team is better if it's rotated. A best 11 becomes a meaningless abstraction because fitness and form become a factor.

You can't play Sane Sat-Wed-Sat for more than about 3 or 4 ties before his game will start to dip.
