Not sure I would start with Mahrez in this one. I can hear all the 'professional player', 'should be able to handle the pressure, 'just get on with it', 'it's part and parcel of the game' responses, but I imagine he'll get a mixed reception from their support, particularly in a cup tie, and he doesn't strike me as someone who'd be unaffected by that.
Indeed, it got me wondering: who was the last player we signed from an English club who went back there and had a blinder?

I wasn't trying to pick a best 11, I was trying to point out the players available i.e. we can play a top side in midweek and a top side at the weekend with little loss in performance...assuming no injuries. Recently we gave become compromised by injury but that may passWe have a best 10 with a ? at left back

I’d play Mahrez in this but good question. Must be a good few years ago.

We've got two players for every position (almost). I'm pretty sure that we'll take every competition very seriously until forced to compromise if a fixture clashes just before a league game, and then we'll just give it our best shot with what we have.
If we can choose between Sane, Sterling, Jesus, Bernardo, David Silva, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden we don't have to make compromises we just have to rotate.
Do City have a best 11? We have a No. 1 keeper, and 5-6 players such as Fern, KDB, Laporte, Walker, Sane, David Silva would get into a best 11, but this is a squad in a very real sense.
Interesting question. I say we do.

On paper this is probably our best XI. Of course for some games that won't be the best option. Bernardo and Mahrez are probably the closest to being in that team.
