Leicester City (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A win is win

Luck was on side those balls hitting the frame could have gone in on another day but 3 points will do world of good for mentality and boost for upcoming matches
This all day long, we just needed the win first and foremost. Then hopefully we will get a little of our confidence as a team back.

That was the proverbial Christmas log that we needed to clear out of our system.

Our problems are there for all to see. We're tired, we're defensively questionable. But we have heart.

Not that different to everton performance-wise, just that Leicester didn't hit the target with their chances.

Today was the first time watched McAtee in the first team and thought he could offer something useful. Not the skill for the goal, we all know he has that, but the intelligence, application and awareness. It was impressive and the kind of impact you'd expect from a seasoned pro.

Nearly a week off now, chance to get some new blood in. I fully expect at least one centre back and one midfielder. If we can get that spine back then we can kick on for top 4. Title clearly gone barring all but the most hilarious of brain farts from the dips.

Hopefully a smile or two tomorrow as well if that lot keep up their form too.

Clean sheet and three points.
Team spirit looks strong.

I’ll take that

Agreed. We needed to get a win back on the board and we did that. It wasn't vintage City, but a few things went our way, that haven't recently. We've now got a good amount of rest before West Ham, and hopefully can kick start the New Year with some momentum.

I'm not getting carried away but there a few positives today. Foden getting a shot away that was more like him in form.
The resultant first goal for Savinio and his assist. Lovely bit of skill by Mcatee which lead to the piece of City play in weeks. What I liked as well was Mcatee's positioning when Harlaand headed it in. Right around the penalty spot The amount of times this season we've needed someone there for a half clearance or when the ball has been crossed behind Harlaand.
The support was absolutely brilliant today and played a huge part in getting the lads over the line for the win.

History is written by the winners so ultimately we'll forget Gvardiol's soft back header (plus De Bruyne's suicidal backpass v Forest) whilst forever blaming Nunes for the derby defeat.

Harsh, but regardless of the result, we seem to gift the opposition in every game.

The concern for me was the pressing, Foden looks off the pace like we’ve seen & Savio poor out of possession.

Have to disagree with your Savinho comment. I think he’s very active on defence. The “problem” is often that he is overloaded on his side and has to make a choice on the coverage. That means he often has to drop further back defensively, resulting in the out ball being on his side. However, that’s the better option than leaving the open man…and space…in behind him.
