Leicester City (A) | Post Match Thread

Great result. We looked comfortable mostly, but didn't really have an edge or create any clear cut opportunities. Kinda like a lot of games last season. Alvarez looked lively in the first half, and had one decent chance, but was pretty anonymous after half time. The ending after Leicester changed things up was a bit too nervy for me. Ultimately a great 3 points, but is anyone else worried about our away performances lately? (And obviously, by 'worried' I mean as worried as you can be when you're sitting top of the league).
We are not playing particularly well currently but if we can win our next two, we go into the break very well placed.

I am very happy with the 3 points today, but being honest the last couple of games we have looked well off the pace, still like you say we are top of the league

Awful spectacle.

Thought Grealish played well,if it wasnt for Kev's worldy moment he'd have been my MOTM.Fantastic save and general awareness throughout the game from Eddie.

Not a good game for Alavrez,it just didnt suit his energy and tenacity.Thought we looked better defensively while Akanji was on the pitch too.

I always suspected it would be a cagey affair, and so it proved, glad its out of the way,and a great 3 points.
Really? Hmm, Grealish put in a couple of good crosses in the first half and got himself fouled (scraping the barrel for praise with that one) for the free kick that we scored from; similarly Bernardo on the other side who weaved some very good moments in the first half when he was double teamed and had a good shot saved… Other than that I thought they were both quite ineffective for the majority of the game outside those odd moments.

Ederson Akanji Stones Rodri and de Bruyne all played well. But I wouldn’t have picked out Grealish.

Yes,really, for the reasons i mentioned. We look far more balanced and have a different dimension with him on the pitch, just a shame the reigns are never fully taken off.

The others you mention did varying degrees of well too.

Very hard to play against, but we were patient and did our jobs. These are the sorts of games where, if you do win the league, you look back and see them as the spine. Not much else to say, really. I'm sure Grealish and Alvarez will get a bit of stick, but it's hard to play against a back five and a wall of four in front of them that don't want to come out.
They had no ambition in the first half, all 11 men behind the ball and even though we controlled it there was very little space.
Saying that we had some half chances through Alvarez, Bernardo, Rodri but it took a bit of magic from Kev and what a goal it was!
Grealish did well in the build up and i just wish he'd do more of that as that's where he's most effective.
I would've liked Alvarez to stay on because when the game opened up and we had two counter attacks at the end, he may have benefitted, oh well, goals will come for him.

We played well considering their tactics and were deserved winners and we keep putting the pressure on the other teams.
