Leicester City (A) | Post Match Thread

That was in Vienna...

But yes, it was wet.
I still haven’t dried out completely.

The first half was fine but in the second half it absolutely bucketed down. I can’t ever recall being so wet. I made it back to the hotel and had to change (literally) everything.

A great evening out in Vienna followed after the match.

It remains the only European final I have ever attended. I have been to Milan (2016), Kyiv (2018), Madrid (2019), and Paris (2022) as a tourist without a match ticket.

There was a canopy over the bar, the only cover on that side of the ground. Avoided the worst.

had Leicester not have had the flurry after 78mins I would have been saying perfect game against a team of "football killers". They wont do that against any other team at home, i have never seen Leicester defend as intense at the etihad. Their poor fans in the first half only got to clap when they kicked the ball out for our corner, it was seen as good defending !

Some may like that type of football, i dont. Had Leicester grabbed a totally undeserved draw no doubt pundits would have been all over it as a good show.

Justice was done, KDB shot hits the woodwork and goes in, their brilliant volley hits the woodwork and bounces high and clear... There is justice.

all in all a good win against dull football. But we should have stayed strong from 78 mins onwards as we gave the ball away a lot and got sloppy.

I would think most Leicester fans were expecting this type of performance. It was a one off for them. There's a reason they don't do it again any other team because they know we are the best at punishing teams that allow space. Got to give Rogers respect for setting his team up to stop us. They would've had a point and maybe all 3 but for the brilliance of Kev and awareness of Eddie.

The win was a great result. There are a few creativity issues, I'll grant you, but the control and game management is still there. It was great to come away with the 3 points.

To be a Leicester fan..... Imagine watching that negative tripe, as in you don't even leave your half and relinquish possession almost willingly, and then when you do decide to attack 15 mins from the end it turns out you might have had a decent shout at a goal if your team had bothered to try it at other points in the game. Would have me raging! Fuck em. Good win.
That’s how they won the league, gave up passion for 75-85% of games then scored on the counter, I am not knocking it, it worked very well for them, but we get slagged as being boring, at least we are trying to win for 100% of the game

I think Rodgers dropped a huge bollock playing that way. We haven't been at our best lately, had a few injuries and no Haaland. They had come into some form and worried us when they finally had a go, I think they'd have been better off being more adventurous.
