Leicester City (A) | Post Match Thread

Yeah same here, only another couple of league games to go and I think we’ll see Phillips after the World Cup.
Don't hold your breath, waistcoat will flog him to death and he'll finish up coming back injured for 2 months

Let’s put that into context, though, shall we?

1) Copenhagen: Played most of the game with 10 men in CL, where the job was to not lose.

2) Liverpool: Nuff said.

3) Dortmund: Good team, needed 1 pt to win CL Group…and did it.

4) Leicester: We DID score, and scoring from a dead ball is most teams’ best chance of scoring against us.

While it’s great that we averaged almost 3 per game early doors, like Haaland scoring hat tricks every game, it’s just not possible and teams set up to nullify you.

And, in the CL, nearly all teams deserve respect, because they can ALL play.

I was at Leicester yesterday and if City ever set up like they did, for a home game, I will stop going to matches. This is the premier league in the world and Leicester set up with 11 men behind the ball for almost 80 minutes, with zero ambition and giving up almost 66% of the pitch before approaching us to challenge for the ball, its no surprise we found it nigh on impossible to breach them!
But breach them we did and they got what they deserved - nothing.

I dont agree. While the Leicester game plan was mind numbing, and justified its blink and you miss it billing on MOTD,it also catered for their strengths and very nearly gained them a point.
Had they decided to go toe to toe we'd have found ourselves walking away with a very healthy goal tally, and Leicesters predicament cannot afford such.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Kevin De Bruyne is one of the greatest overall players of all time, in my honest opinion - not just his playing/vision/skill, but, the man is so humble - he is real class, he doesn’t have to brag, the man is a living legend. Simply irreplaceable.
