You'd "go for a false 9" when Alvarez is a 9, bizarre. The lad has been almost completely overshadowed by us having the world's best striker but he needs to play to gain confidence and try and established himself.

Here are 6 reasons you might think Alvarez as a 9 is a better bet than a false 9. Enjoy: )

If he doesn’t start when Haaland is injured, he won’t be at City for long. It’s pretty much what his role in the squad is.

This is a tricky game to call, we looked a little sluggish against Dortmund until Bernardo arrived and our away form isn’t great with only one win in our last 4 aways in all competitions. Then of course Haaland could be out.

A few weeks ago Leicester away would have been close to a gimme, they were leaking goals and not scoring. The last few matches Wout Faes has locked up their defence and they have become a little clinical. Plus Leicester have performed better than most against us since Pep arrived. Vardy has a good record against us and Maddison is playing well. They are well set to play on the counter with limited possession as they showed last week.

Having said all that we are better than them and if we play well, we’ll win. Question is whether we can turn it on for the early Saturday game.

I hope to see both Grealish and Foden start. I. Haaland’s absence it would be a big game for Alvarez. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him so far. He’s struggled to get into the matches I’ve seen. Mahrez needs a rest and getting our full backs sorted could be tricky especially if Cancelo is out. Then either Gomez or Ake will play left full which would change our setup a lot. KDB coming back will give us more thrust but we need to be careful not to give them easy counterattacking opportunities.

This is definitely a game for Pep to earn his corn. Hoping for any sort of win.

They've got the counter attacking pace that can often be our downfall but they've also not got the defensive solidity to sit back and absorb our attack in my opinion. Hopefully we play with a bit more control than we have done in recent league games. I never like the early kick off on a Saturday with City. Always makes me nervous. I'm not sure if there's anything rational behind that though and what our record it!

Need to win it though. A huge incentive to go top of the table and put the pressure on Arsenal.

Taking my lad on Saturday, any suggestions for away friendly pubs near the station or ground?

Mahrez needs to be dropped not rested, it says a lot about the player when he does n't turn up fit for pre-season training.

He's got potential for sure, but doesn't get anywhere near the time and space in this league as he has in that video.
